The number of singers

| YES, they find CVT very useful indeed is the unmistakable answer according to a new Finnish report about CVT. The detailed responses from 270 singers are overwhelming, or as Reeta-Leena Korhola from Sibelius Academy who made the study puts it: My own experience with CVT has been great, but I didn't know that almost everybody thought the same. The message is just as positive in the great video made by Janne Johansen who attended 'Complete Vocal Academy' in 2007. |

Report from Finland
pro's and con's about CVT from 270 singers
With the following message, Reeta-Leena Korhola from Finland managed to collect questionnaires from more than 270 singers worldwide:
"Dear singers. I was studying Complete Vocal Technique at the 1 year singer course in Helsinki, Finland 2006-2007. I became very interested of the method and found it very useful for myself as a singer. I am gratuating from Sibelius-Academy and right now am doing my pro-seminary work about CVT. I would like to know, how CVT has helped the singers to develope their skills. I would really appreciate if all the singers, who have studied Complete Vocal Technique, would kindly answer my questionnaire. It won't take much of your time and it would be also extremely useful information for the Institute as well as for me. I hope to get as many answers as possible."
After receiving answers from more than 270 singers the message was clear. As Reeta-Leena puts it: "The results were amazing, way more than I ever expected. My own experience with CVT has been great, but I didn't know that almost everybody thought the same. It seems that CVT has helped so many singers around the world."
Yes, to our outmost joy CVT has already helped many singers, and from the overall interest we meet, it looks like we have only seen the tip of the iceberg so far. However we are also extremely grateful for the help and support we receive from singers worldwide. Like this report for instance - we are truly overwhelmed!
Thanks to all who took the time to answer the questionnaire, and special thanks to Reeta-Leena for making this report. It couldn't have brought wider smiles to our faces, had it been wrapped in gold paper and placed under a Christmas tree.
The full analysis is 40 pages in Finnish language, but Reeta-Leena has kindly provided us with a compact report in English.

Human Bells, singing from the towers of Copenhagen – sign up now!
Research has confirmed, that singing powerfully is not harmful for the voice if done correctly. After having to cancel the project due to stormy weather last year, we now once again present the Human Bells/Belts in the official Danish “Year of Singing”. Four groups of singers will Belt to the sky from 4 towers in the center of Copenhagen on May 9, 2008.
All – both experienced singers and not-so-experienced singers – are welcome to participate in the event. Rehearsal dates are April 15 and 28, both days at 18 hrs. at CVI, Kultorvet. If you are a not-so-experienced-singer please try and meet up at both rehearsal dates. At both rehearsals we are going to measure how loud a sound we can make, when we all belt at the same time.

3-year Singer/Teacher Diploma Course apply now!
Since the last newsletter was sent out in January, we have received many applications for the 3-year Singer/Teacher Diploma Course – if you are considering applying, now is the time to send your application!
Many people fly in 6 times a year from all over Europe to attend this course, which takes place at CVI in Copenhagen. A total of 18 seminars of 4 days each, spread over 3 years, either weekends (Thursday-Sunday) or weekdays (Monday-Thursday). Price first year € 5.135, second year € 5.270, third year € 5.400.

New 2008 Advanced Soloist Course in Copenhagen
A progressive course focusing on each individual singer building a repertoire, training vocal techniques in the technical as well as the artistic sense, getting extensive live practice, and performing the songs with a band and in front of an audience. Also, the singers will be instructed on how to handle the press and media. Furthermore, studio training and work with a vocal producer is included, and a demo CD will be produced.
The course is 6 seminars, 3 days each, within one year. Seminars run Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Complete Vocal Academy
4-month intensive course in Copenhagen
This spring we again have singers from many different countries attending the institute. Among others from Iceland, USA, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Norway and of course from Denmark. The course starts on February 4 and there are still a couple of free spaces, so hurry up if you want to join! Spend four months with focus on your singing, and develop technically as well as artistically. 2-days Course for Voice Professionals a great succes!
The course in Utrecht, arranged by Jeroen Manuhutu, was 2 days where voice professionals from Holland, France, Belgium and Germany met up with Cathrine Sadolin and had plenty of time to ask in-depth questions and discuss different CVT and other vocal technique issues. Master class took about half of the days, and in line with the practical CVT approach there was lots of singing and sounds also under the discussions.
2 great and enthusiastic days - thanks to all singers, attendants, Marc the pianist, and Mister Manuhutu!

Komplette Gesangstekniek
at Musikmesse Frankfurt
Even though we only had a dummy of the new German book to show, we met big interest from several distributors in the German speaking region. Negotiations are now taking place so we can be ready when the final book are ready a few months from now.
The making of the 4 new Complete Vocal Technique books in German, Italian, Spanish and French are still well in progress. Also in progress are 3 new versions of the English, Dutch and Swedish. The first one to be published will most likely be the German closely followed by the English. |

We are sorry for the delay of these new editions, but we are still finding flaws and possible changes that takes time to discuss and maybe execute. Since our first vocal technique video in 1991, we have always spend time on making the best possible result. We believe that this constant focus on quality has a part in CVT's succes today. We are very much looking forward to announce the publishing dates in a coming news letter.

We need
test singers at CVI
A free taste of Complete Vocal Technique. If you would like to try out the possibilities CVT has to offer for free, this is your opportunity! The attendants at our international 3-year Singer/ Teacher Diploma course are using test singers as part of their training. All attendants at the 3-year course are professional and at the highest level.
As a test singer at CVI you will receive 20-30 minutes free training. Or at selected days a full master class with fellow singers and teachers. Do you have specific challenge to work with, or do you just want to try something new? In either case a session as CVI test singer is evident.
The more you are aware what you want to work on, the better result you will get from your session. It is not required that you know anything about Complete Vocal Technique to become a CVI test singer, but should you be interested in studying we recommend book&CD 'Complete Vocal Technique'.
The age limit for attending as a CVI test singer is 18 years of age.
We need test singers regularly. Sign up now, and pass this information to your singing friends also.

Deltagerne på vores internationale 3-årige Sanger/Underviser Diplomuddannelse skal nemlig bruge sangkaniner som led i deres uddannelse. Alle på uddannelsen er professionelle og befinder sig på højeste niveau.
Som sangkanin ved CVI får du 20-30 minutters gratis undervisning. Du kan få undervisning i lige præcis det, du ønsker. Har du en bestemt sangteknisk udfordring, eller kunne du bare tænke dig at prøve noget nyt? En session som sangkanin hos CVI er oplagt.
Jo mere du som kanin har gjort dig bevidst om, hvad du ønsker at arbejde på, desto længere kan du nå på de 20-30 minutter. Der er ikke noget krav om forhåndskendskab til teknikkerne, men skulle du være interesseret, kan vi anbefale bog & cd Komplet Sangteknik.
Aldersgrænsen for deltagelse er minimum 18 år. Vi skal bruge sangkaniner løbende. Lad gerne dine sanginteresserede venner/ bekendte vide besked om denne mulighed også.
